International experience is often framed as human-capital accumulation. This project asks how credentials and trajectories are selectively recognised, discounted, or reclassified as people move between labour markets and evaluation regimes.

§01

Mission

To analyse how mobility is converted—or fails to convert—into career advantage, with attention to hiring, certification, and organisational gatekeeping.

§02

Core idea

Conversion is not automatic. Institutions and employers mediate which forms of mobility “count,” producing systematic variation by sector, city, and social position.

  • Conceptual bridge between migration studies and sociology of valuation
  • Focus on evaluation episodes rather than only pre-migration plans
  • Integration of qualitative evidence with structured analytical schemas
§03

Analytical moves

The work progresses by contrasting formal rules (licensing, degree recognition, visa categories) with situated practices of screening and referral that shape outcomes on the ground.
